🙆The Governor of West Kordofan meets with the Sudanese delegation of the Dinka Abiy Alliance Khartoum, August 16, 2026 (Suna) - The Governor of West Kordofan, Major General Maash Hamd Tiraab, expressed his full commitment to addressing all obstacles and challenges facing the Dinka Abiy community, pledging to work diligently to find radical and comprehensive solutions to all issues affecting their vital needs, in coordination with relevant authorities. This came during his meeting today at the Governor's office in Khartoum, with the Sudanese delegation of the Dinka Abiy Alliance, where the meeting discussed the general situation and files of mutual interest, including efforts aimed at achieving stability and security in the state after its liberation from the rebel Rapid Support Forces. The head of the Dinka Abiy Alliance, John Zekriya Atien, explained that the discussions delved deeply into several essential issues, most notably confirming the status of the sons of Abiy as an authentic and active part of the social fabric of West Kordofan, and the strenuous efforts to meet the civil and administrative needs of members of the community, in addition to addressing the humanitarian and difficult living conditions of displaced persons and providing the necessary mechanisms. John Zekriya added that the meeting also discussed ways to strengthen shared social ties, reinforce the presence of the sons of the region, and activate their role in the national and local struggles in the state to achieve the greater dream of establishing Sudanese Abiy as an integral part of West Kordofan. What does the Blue Niles future look like ? Recently the rsf retook kurmuk and other territories in the blue nile region. I believe the blue Nile front is just to divert resources from kordofan and ease the pressure on the rsf especially with recent saf victories on the kordorfan front . With blue Nile bordering South Sudan and Ethiopia 2 countries the rsf frequently retreat back into especially Ethiopia when they lost kurmuk about a month ago I ask my self can the saf really push the rsf fully out without the rsf just regrouping in Ethiopia and launching attacks again especially with reports of Ethiopia aiding in these attacks with the drones and troops. What will the future of the blue Nile look like?

At least 8 million Sudanese children remain out of school after more than three years of civil war. Sudan’s economy contracted 29.4% in 2023 and 14% in 2024, with the World Bank warning that conflict continues to weaken its recovery. About 80% of higher-education institutions are no longer operational, while universities, laboratories and libraries have been destroyed or looted. The UN says Sudan risks losing another generation as fighting shifts towards Darfur and Kordofan and humanitarian funding remains severely stretched.

Pope Leo XIV has renewed his call for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan and urged authorities to guarantee safe humanitarian corridors for civilians trapped by the ongoing conflict.
